Founded in 1979, East Coast Car Rentals is today located at 504 Nudgee Road, Hendra QLD 4011, just five minutes from Brisbane Airport. The company also has offices at Cairns and Gold Coast airports. After-hours collections are not available at the Brisbane Airport depot, but it is possible to arrange for free shuttle transport to customer's hotels and other accommodation.

East Coast Car Rental also allows customers to collect at one location and drop off their vehicle at another for a nominal relocation fee, which will be at least AU$10.00.

The base rate includes free unlimited kilometers. Extras available from East Coast Car Rentals Brisbane Airport include roadside assistance and E-Tags for easy toll payment/collection on toll roads. Also available for a small daily charge are baby and booster seats, GPS, portable DVD players and additional drivers.

Restrictions of use include that vehicles must not be taken to Western Australia or the Northern Territory, and must not be taken to beaches, into rivers and other waterways. East Coast also doesn't permit renters to take rental vehicles in a westerly direction on Highway #27 beyond Chillagoe.

Renters must be at least 21 years old. Renters aged 21 to 24 are subject to a surcharge of AU$9.90 a day (price 2019). The maximum age for renters is 80 years.

Cash is not accepted as a payment method. Visa and Mastercard credit and debit cards are accepted, as are American Express card payments and EFTPOS, as long as the latter is drawn on Australian banks. For all American Express payments a fee of 2.2% is charged. All renters must secure their booking with a deposit of AU$1,000.00.
